The CBI Special Court at Nampally on Saturday dismissed the petition of mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy and suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi to transfer their bail petitions to the Second Additional Special Court as the predecessor judge B Nagamaruthi Sarma had already heard the bail plea in part.
It may be mentioned that Justice Nagamaruthi Sarma has been transferred to another CBI court and he was replaced by Justice A Pullaiah.
While dismissing their appeals, the court has adjourned the hearing on bail petitions of Gali Janardhan Reddy to May 5 and Srilakshmi to May 2.
Noted criminal advocate Ram Jethmalani appeared in the court to argue for Gali Janardhan Reddy’s bail petition. However, the CBI sought more time to file counter petition on Gali’s bail petition as additional solicitor did not turn up.
Directing the CBI to file counter petition, the court adjourned Gali’s bail petition to May 5.
