Court rejected sedition case against Azam Khan

Badaun: A sedition case lodged against Samajwadi Party leader Mohammed Azam Khan was dismissed by a local court in Badaun. A case had been filed against him for allegedly making controversial remarks on Kashmir. The Chief Judicial Magistrate Amarjeet Singh on Tuesday rejected the final report filed by the police in the matter.

It must be recalled that Bajrang Dal leader Ujjawal Gupta had filed a case against Azam Khan alleging that the later made controversial comments on Kashmir on December 21, 2010.

The final report filed by the investigating officer was rejected by the court saying it was false and was based on baseless facts to get desired results. The Court ordered a re-investigation, asking the police to obtain the original recording from the media and make it a part of the probe.
