Seventh Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Nampally Criminal Court issued orders to Kanchan Bangh Police Station to register a criminal case against Praveen Togadia. Mr. Mohammed Arshad, resident of Hafiz Baba Nagar had submitted a petition, Mr. Arshad stated that Praveen Togadia made venomous speeches against the Muslims.
On 22nd January in Nanded District of Maharashtra State in which he had justified attacks on the Muslims made in Gujarat, Assam, Bhagalpur, Meerut and Muradabad. Togadia also said that the Muslims are cowards. This hurt the sentiments of the Muslims. Accepting his petition, the Court ordered Kanchanbagh Police Station to register a case against Togadia under sections 153A, 295A, 299 and 505 of Indian Penal Code.
It may be mentioned that Govt. of Maharashtra has resgistered a case against Togadia for the venomous speech he made in Nanded. The tapes of his speech have been sent to Forensic Laboratory for examination.
Ministry of Home Affairs had issued instructions to Govt. of Maharashtra for registering a criminal case against Praveen Togadia.
