Court orders arrest of ex-cabinet minister Azam Khan

Allahabad: A special judge of MP/MLA Court Pawan Kumar Tiwari on Saturday ordered to arrest former minister Mohammed Azam Khan and produce him before the court. The special court also ordered to arrest his aide Mohammed Ahlullah, Rajesh, DP Yadav and Raj Kumar.

Hearing the case of Azam Khan, the Court said that if the accused does not appear before the court in the next hearing that is scheduled on January 21, legal action will be taken against him.

The case is regarding the siege of the police station. On January 2, 2008, Azam Khan’s vehicle was stopped by the police station in charge as the vehicle he was riding had tinted glasses. When the police began taking action against him, Azam Khan got down from the vehicle and jammed the national highway, along with his supporters. On not appearing before the court in the above-mentioned case, the court ordered his arrest.
