(Siasat News)The local residents expressed their concern over the excavation work, which is in progress adjacent to the wall of Golconda Fort. The excavation work is being carried out on behalf of Hyderabad Golf Association in contravention of High Court orders.
The local residents told that Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad and Hyderabad Golf Association are indulging in damaging the reserved cultural heritage of the historic city of Hyderabad.
Mr. Khizar Yafayi, Mr. Shahnawaz Khan, Mr. Syed Shakeel, Mr. Mohammed Riyazuddin and Mr. Akbar Ahmed Khan, the leaders of YSR Congress protested against these excavations.
Municipal authorities are trying to provide a passage for drain water by digging the old structures. These leaders told that New Golconda Fort is a historic monument. It has fountains, terraces and other historic buildings, which are being damaged. It is said that these excavations are being carried out violating the court orders passed in writ petition No. 16294/2011.
These leaders demanded the Municipal authorities and the Management of Hyderabad Golf association to stop excavation work immediately and remove excavating machines from the spot.
