Bhubaneswar, January 19: A local court in Orissa today extended by seven days police remand of the wife of a Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda.
Subhashree Das alias Mili, has been accused of propagating Maoist ideology here besides sending essentials for ultras in forests.
She was also accused of acting as a medium between the ultras and the Maoist’s central committee, a senior official associated with anti-Maoist operation, said.
Mili, who along with three others, was produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate Banpur in Khurda for the second time after her arrest on January 14.
The court had on Saturday remanded her in police custody for three days. However, as the case had been handed over to the Crime Branch for investigation, a fresh application was made to extend her remand.
“The court extended her police remand till January 25,” Mili’s lawyer B Das said.
