New Delhi, July 29: A Delhi court today directed a senior police officer to appear before it tomorrow to explain failure of the department to ensure appearance of a minor boy in order to hand over his custody to the mother.
The Guardianship Judge expressed his dissatisfaction over the inability of the police to produce the 20-month-old child who has allegedly been taken away by his father.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (South west) was asked to appear before the court tomorrow.
The court had earlier directed the Bindapur police station here to produce the child before it today on a plea by the child’s mother.
The court’s order had come on the application of the mother stating that she had been turned away from her matrimonial home by her husband in June, 2009, and her 20-month-old child had been snatched away from her custody by her husband.
