Court adjourns Vijay Sai’s bail petition hearing to April 12

The CBI Special Court on Monday posted the hearing on the bail petition of Jagathi Publications vice-chairman Vijay Sai Reddy, the second accused in the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case, to April 12.

The special court took this decision after completion of arguments and counter arguments on the bail petition of Vijay Sai Reddy, presently lodged in the Chanchalguda Jail.

Earlier, Vijay Sai Reddy’s counsel argued that Section 409 (criminal breach of trust) does not apply to his client as he was not a public servant and he could not be kept in judicial custody for more than 60 days. The counsel also assured the court that his client would in no way interfere with the investigations as being alleged by the CBI or influence the witnesses if released on bail.

However, the CBI opposed the bail stating that the investigations into the case were at a crucial phase. (INN)
