Court adjourns TTD EO petition to Friday

The CBI special court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on the petition of Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) L V Subrahmanyam, who sought quashing of CBI charges against him in connection with Emaar township scam, to Friday.

While posting the petition for hearing on Friday, the special court directed the probing agency to file a counter petition in this regard immediately.

It may be mentioned that special court issued summons to both L V Subrahmanyam and suspended IAS officer B P Acharya to appear before it in the Emaar scam before June 18.

The CBI booked cases against them under provisions of IPC and the state also permitted the CBI to prosecute Acharya under the Prevention of Corruption Act. However, the government denied permission to CBI to prosecute Subrahmanyam under the Prevention of Corruption Act after perusal of records.(INN)
