Court adjourns Gali’s bail petition hearing to April 13

The CBI Special Court on Tuesday posted the hearing to April 13 on the bail petition of former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy in the Obulapuram Mining Corporation’s illegal mining case.

The court adjourned the petition for hearing while directing the CBI to file a counter petition in the case. This is the fifth bail petition moved by Gali Janardhan Reddy in the court after his arrest in September last in Bellary of Karnataka. Earlier, the court has rejected his four bail petitions following strong objections raised by the CBI.

The court also raised objection for including Gali’s personal assistant Mehafuz Ali Khan as the 7th accused in the charge sheet. The special court directed the probing agency to submit a memo to include Mehafuz as the seventh accused. For this the CBI counsel has sought some more time to file the memo.

After hearing the arguments of CBI counsel, the court posted the petition for next hearing to April 13. (INN)
