Mumbai, January 11: A sessions court today acquitted a 50-year-old rape accused following contradictions in evidence and the testimony of a doctor who suggested that the victim’s sexual organs were not fully formed.
The case dates back to April 2006 when the victim, a domestic maidservant, alleged that a man called Kashinath accosted her while she was on her way to work at suburban Vikhroli, dragged her to a secluded place and raped her.
During trial, the victim narrated the incident before the court. She also revealed that she had been married for two years but did not have any sexual relations with her husband.
The victim also told the court that she never had menstrual cycles in her life.
A doctor from Rajawadi hospital who had examined the victim told the court that the victim’s sexual organs were not fully formed.
