Hyderabad, Jan 29:Following a direction from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the Andhra Pradesh Police today paid a sum of Rs 4 lakhs to a couple here who was allegedly threatened and beaten up by Additional Director General of Police (Sports) Tejdeep Kaur Menon in 2002.
The complainant M A Khadeer and his wife Harita had accused Tejdeep Kaur of barging into their flat in Begumpet here allegedly at the behest of one air-hostess in August 2002, who had suspected Harita of stealing certain documents and valuables from her house following which the IPS officer, who was then IG Special Protection Force, came to their house and beat them up.
The couple said they were being falsely implicated in the case and were even “tortured” by Tejdeep Kaur
