A farmer couple was allegedly murdered with sharp weapons in Pokhari village in the district, police said today.
The incident took place last night under Mahagaon police station limits here, when the couple had gone to their
farm to protect the standing crop, police said adding that a 25-year-old youth was arrested in this connection this
morning.
The deceased have been identified as Kisan Munna Jadhav (55) and his wife Meerabai (50).
The farm labourers found the dead bodies lying this morning and informed the police, after which they were sent
for autopsy. A dog squad was pressed into action.
Police later arrested one Mithun Prahlad Jadhav, a resident of the same village. A complaint was registered
against him under section 302 of the IPC.
Police claimed that past enmity was behind the murder.
The arrested accused has confessed to the crime and said he did it for revenge,” Local Crime Bureau (LCB) chief
Chandansingh Bayas said.
Further investigation in the case is on.
