Hyderabad: Following a complaint from LIC Branch Manager of Putlibowli, the Sultan Bazaar police nabbed a couple one Ushasri and Ravi Sankar Sarma for discharging death claim of live policyholder by submitting a fraudulent death certificate.
During the investigation, the sleuths arrested Aripirala Ravi Sankar Sarma, 38, of Sanjana Lake View Apartment, Gangastan, Dhollapally, Hyderabad, Mohammed Mujeeb-Ulla Khan, 42, Mechanic in RTC and resident of MLG Road, Shamsh Nagar, BTS, Nalgonda District and Khaja Arifuddin, 40, Municipal officer of Nalgonda District and seized death certificate of Aripirala Ravi Sankar Sarma, which was fraudulently procured during his lifetime.
Aripirala Ravi Sankar Sarma, in collusion with his wife Ushasri, Mohammed Mujeeb-Ulla-Khan., and Khaja Arifuddin, fraudulently procured death certificate of Aripirala Ravi Sankar Sarma during his lifetime and submitted the same at the office of LIC, Putlibowli and Chaitanyapura Branch through LIC Agent Pulla Reddy and discharged death claim amount of Rs 14,15,736 by deceiving the LIC officials. Besides, Aripirala Ravi Sankar Sarma was also involved in a similar crime case registered by Chaitanyapuri police.
Under the supervision of C. Shashidhar Raju, Dy Commissioner of Police, East Zone, Hyderabad, G. Chakravarthy, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Sultan Bazar Division, P. Siva Shankar Rao, Inspector of Sultan Bazar PS, K. Madhusudhan, S.I and his team were instrumental in arresting the accused, who indulged in discharging death claims during lifetime by submitting death certificate, which was fraudulently procured from the office of Nalgonda Municipality and deceiving LIC officials.
