‘Country will never forget cheaters Modi’ responds Rahul on disrespectful comment on father

New Delhi: Despite Modi calling Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s father and former PM Rajiv Gandhi as Bhrashtachari No.1 while campaigning in UP’s Pratapgarh this big-hearted son has got all the love he got to give it to Modiji.

Hitting back at Modi’s ‘bharashtachar’ comment on former PM Rajiv Gandhi, Rahul tweeted:

“Modiji, the battle is over. Your karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won’t protect you. All my love and a huge hug.”

Rahul’s sister and also AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too responded to the comment against her father.

Calling it an insult to the martyrdom she said Modi delivered the speech in a flurry of “belagaam sanak (uncontrolled eccentricity)”.

“The PM, who seeks votes in the name of martyrs, insulted the martyrdom of a good and righteous man in a flurry of uncontrolled eccentricity,” she tweeted.

“The people of Amethi, for whom Rajiv Gandhi laid his life, will give a fitting response. Yes, Modiji, this country never forgives cheaters,” she added.

Campaigning at a rally in UP on Saturday, Modi targeted former PM in an attempt to attack Rahul.

“Your father was termed Mr Clean by his courtiers, but his life ended as Bhrashtachari No.1,” Modi said adding “by hurling abuses, you cannot turn the 50 long years of Modi’s tapasya (struggle) into dust.”

“By tarnishing my image and by making me look small, these people want to form an unstable and weak government in the country,” Modi added.
