TDP president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today said the country and the State need an efficient leadership.
Speaking on the occasion of 33rd Formation Day of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Naidu said late N T Rama Rao had not floated the party for money and power, but to restore self respect of Telugu people and for their welfare and State development. The TDP chief alleged that during the rule of “corrupt and inefficient” Congress government, the country and State were ruined. “Wrong policies of the Congress government drove the farmers to commit suicides”, he said, adding that Congress would be routed in the country as well as in the State.
Stating that Hyderabad was developed during his rule, Naidu said the city was competing with Singapre. The country has capacity to compete with America and China and for this a strong leadership was needed.
Earlier, Naidu visited NTR ghat and paid floral tributes to the party founder. Party leaders Talasani Srinivas Yadav, L Ramana and other leaders were present. Speaking to the media at the NTR Trust Bhavan, Naidu said if his party was voted to power, a superspeciality hospital would be constructed in each district. (NSS)
