Chennai, January 31: Police recovered a bag containing a country-made bomb near the railway track at Saidapet station today. Police said the bomb was concealed in a tennis ball. Railway employee Muruguesan who was routinely inspecting the track, found the bag, opened it and found the tennis ball which was stuffed with some explosive substances and fuse wires. Police said it was a country-made bomb.Government Railway Police seized it and informed the bomb detection and disposal squad personnel, who defused it. The bomb was found adjacent to the railway track, in which Tamabram bound EMU trains would pass from Chennai Beach.
