Uttar Pradesh police seized Fake Indian Currency Notes worth Rs 80,000 and arrested seven smugglers from Varanasi and Mehrajganj district in the past 24 hours.
The Special Operation Group of UP police nailed Sonu and Jason from near Pahariya crossing in Cantonment area of
Varanasi today after receiving information about fake notes, police today said.
Hundred notes of Rs 500 denomination were recovered from them, besides some illicit weapons.
Yesterday, police had apprehended five outlaws and recovered Rs 30,000 from their possession. The seized
currency included 60 notes of Rs 500 denomination.
A case has been registered, while further investigation was on.
