Exuding confidence that Congress would come back to power in 2019 elections in the State and at the Centre, AICC leader and Karnataka Minister D K Shiva Kumar has alleged that the nation was in peril and there was urgent need to bring back the Congress to power in 2019 elections to protect the nation.
Participating in Jana Aavedhan Sammelan organised by the TPCC here on Friday, Shiva Kumar said the common man has lost economic freedom with the demonetization of big currency notes. Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi as who empowered him to block the common man’s money, Shiva Kumar lamented that small traders were facing untold hardships after Narendra Modi’s draconian decision.
Stating that the party leaders in Telangana were working well, Shiva Kumar asked the former to go head unitedly and organize “Jana Avedhana Panchayats” in all the constituencies for a week from February 6. He also asked the Youth Congress, NSUI and Mahila Congress activists to take videos of the people suffering from demonetization of big notes and send them to the AICC.
AICC SC Cell chairman Koppula Raju dubbed the PM’s demonetization of big currency notes as surgical strike against common man, corporate bombing and organized looting. Stating that the Lotus Party turned into “Loot Us Party, Raju opined that the Congress would not be strengthened with mere meetings of party leaders and the cadre has to mingle with the people affected with the monstrous demonetization of big notes. Party cadre should take the failures of the Modi government to the people to strengthen the party.
Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhary advised party’s senior leaders not to dream of becoming chief minister, but to protect the cadre working courageously by facing TRS. “It is time for the party leaders to speak openly leaving petty differences aside”, she urged.
Questioning the status of Nizamabad MP K Kavitha to criticize AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy asked the former not to forget that her father has became Chief Minister of the State with the benevolence of AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi, who conceded separate Telangana State. He also alleged that KCR family was collecting crores of rupees towards commissions. He also contended that the TRS government did not construct 300 double bed room houses yet.
Reiterating that his party would come back to power in 2019 elections, the TPCC Chief said Congress would construct an additional room to the existing Indiramma houses.
