The Legislative Council on Sunday adopted five Bills and then adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, Monday being a Holiday for Sriram Navami festival.
The Bills passed by the Upper House are: The Bill providing for making Telugu compulsory in all the Schools in the State till Class Ten; A bill to amend the Law relating to appointment of DGP; An amendment Bill seeking to remove the condition that PG medical students should serve in Government Hospital for one year; A Bill amending the Welfare Fund relating to Advocates and Lawyer clerks; and a bill amending the Assigned lands.
