Corruption spread to all depts during YSR regime: CR

Endowments Minister C. Ramachandraiah has said that corruption was not confined to only some departments during late YSR regime, but it spread to almost all the departments.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Ramachandraiah demanded that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy release a while paper on rampant corruption in all the departments if he wanted the present government to be spotless and unblemished. Stating that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s corruption and economic offences reached its zenith, Ramachandraiah alleged that YSR’s co-brother had grabbed 26 per cent share in a Visakhapatnam Company.

Recalling that YSR Congress party honorary president Y S Vijayalakshmi had expressed her inability to buy land in Hyderabad at Rs 10,000 per square yard and requested to slash the price by Rs 1,000 in 2004, Ramachandraiah asked Vijayalakshmi to explain how thousands of crores of rupees poured into their pockets.

The Endowments Minister suggested to the Chief Minister to see that people of the State are explained in detail about the grave irregularities committed during YSR regime and assume special powers if necessary by amending the laws to tackle the malady. (NSS)
