Corruption rife in Waqf Board due to paucity of staff and lack of monitoring in the minority institutions. Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has held Minority Welfare portfolio with him which resulted in lack of accountability among minority institutions.
Post of Special Officer is vacant for the past one and a half month and no judge has been appointed for Waqf Tribunal. Taking advantage of the situation large scale trading of Waqf properties and corruption is rife in the Waqf Board. In connivance with the officials of the Board, middle men are daily making settlements of many key files secretly.
When any persons approach in connection with protection of Waqf properties there is no one to hear the grievance. On the contrary officials are secretly giving permission to the illegal occupants while the complaints lie in cold storage.
