Bhopal, February 01: “Around 20-25 years back one began hearing about bureaucratic corruption, then it was of political corruption, but now there is also talk of judicial corruption,” this was how veteran BJP leader L K Advani today expressed his anguish on the reported incidents of graft in the legal circle.
“I am sad that these days we even hear talk of corruption in judicial quarters,” he said at a conference of newly-elected BJP corporators of local bodies at the Chief Minister’s residence.
He said, “around 20-25 years back one used to hear about bureaucratic corruption, then one began hearing of political corruption, but now there is also talk of judicial corruption.”
Advani also had a dig at the manner in which newspapers, magazines and private television channels work particularly during election time.
“In the last three or four elections, I have seen that these three view them as an occasion to earn some money and I have raised this issue with the Election Commission,” he said.
Advani said that after the results of the last Lok Sabha polls, an impression had been made out in some quarters that the BJP was on the decline in the country.
He said the impression was proved wrong by the party’s performance in various elections all over the country.
