The TDP has described the YSR Congress as a party that was a mixture of corruption, defection and power craze.
In a statement here on Sunday, party Politburo member Yanamala Rama Krishnudu has said that contrary to it, TDP was a party that was launched for resurrecting the self-respect of Telugus. He has also said TDP was also launched for providing power to the weaker sections and establishing social justice.
Referring to other parties he said while the TRS was established for achieving Telangana, the Lok Satta, Samajwadi, Rashtriya Janata Dal and BSP were established with different public purposes.
He said contrary to all this, the YSR Congress was launched only through scams and corruption and the fact that the party’s founder Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was languishing in jail for the past 3 months was an evidence of this. He said the party was launched only to continue corruption, safeguard the ill-gotten wealth and gaining power through shortcuts.
Recalling the past, Yanamala has said that with the emergence of TDP, the Telugus came to be identified as a special entity and the state also got its own distinct identity. He said while the TDP wiped out corruption, plundering of the state had once again started after Congress came to power under Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in 2004. Stating that YSR had allowed his family members and followers to make lakhs of crores of rupees. He said after YSR’s death, his son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has tried and failed in his attempts to protect his ill-gotten wealth. He said he even launched a new party to protect his father’s legacy of corruption. Rama Krishnudu has said that the YSR Congress was the only party in the country without any agenda. If it has any agenda, that was defending its ills and counter attacking its critics, Yanamala has added.
Stating that the party has been encouraging defections into it from other parties, Yanamala has said that the party was only giving importance to political marketing. He said that a party that was launched only for protecting temporary and self interests would not last long. Stating that the party was launched by Jagan only for the post of Chief Minister, Yanamala has said the party was sure to merge in the Congress, whether Jagan got the post or not. (NSS)
