Keeping in view the ensuring Ganesh and Bakrid festivals, Hyderabad South Zone police have conducted “Cordon and search” operation in the most sensitive and communal areas under Falaknuma, Chatrinaka and Mogulpura police stations under the guidance of Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy, IPS, and apprehended as many as 64 suspects from those areas.
The spot verification made by police using recently launched Mobile Electronic Finger Print Equipment, helped the police to identify 12 persons having Non-Bailable warrants against them and six persons having criminal records. On the personal search of suspects, one Md Ajiz of Nawab Shab Kunta of Falaknuma was found carrying a dagger along with him. The antecedents of Md Aziz and the remaining 45 others were stated to be from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
During the search, the police nabbed three suspects indulged in cheating the innocent by way of doing black magic and sorcery and also raided belt shops and seized liquor bottles from their possession.
Black Magic and Sorcery
Black magic and sorcery was one among the main witchcraft which were being used to cheat the innocent of old city of Hyderabad. Most of them attract the people saying that they will restore good relations between the disturbed wife and husband and separate their husbands from parents and provide treatment for infertility, Gynic problems and even ensure the birth of baby boy.
Earlier also, a number of persons like Balvender Singh, Mukesh, Sanjay, Chuma Chawoos, Naginwala known Babas of old city Hyderabad were arrested for cheating the innocent and these evil acts were prevented for a long time.
It is learnt that M. Bhagwan of Chatrinaka, Sanjay alias Saju and Saravan Kumar of Moghulpura started cheating the people taking advantage of beliefs of innocent people suffering from depression and so on. The three persons were arrested under Section 420 and Sec 7 of Drugs & Magic Remedies Act 1954.
Police said earlier the entire Chatrinaka area and part of Falaknuma were well known for sale of Illicit liquor (Gudumaba) and due to the rigorous efforts made by the concerned police officers, it was prevented and the entire area turned to be free from Illicit liquor (Gudumba). But considering the requirement of addicted people, some of the shopkeepers were purchasing cheap liquor from the licensed shops and selling it on high prices. However, this practice of selling cheap liquor in small shops will be prevented soon by arresting them under appropriate laws.
During the house search of Prabhaker Reddy of Badjibada Nagar, the police seized 48 cheep liquor quarter bottles, 12 beers and four full bottles of different brands. Accused Prabhaker Reddy was arrested under Excise Act and remains unchanged, he will be booked under PD Act.
In view of lord Ganesh and Bakrid festivals as many as 20 rowdy Sheeters were taken into custody and counselled them to maintain good behaviour. Amongst them 12 rowdy Sheeters are being produced before the Executive Magistrate to bound over them for ensuring good behaviour.
As many as six persons namely Sameer Pasha, Ibrahim Khan, Mursheed, Zakeer, Azam, Hazir all residents of Ghosha Mahal, who were found riding horses on the Falaknuma main road and Chandrayangutta were arrested for their rash and negligent act endangering human life and the personal safety of others.
Earlier, the similar act of horse rider killed one person in limits of Police Station Mailadevpally. In order to prevent the similar incidents, the horse owners of Chatrinaka and Falaknuma areas were counselled to follow the laws and explained to them about the bad effects of riding horse on the main roads.
