New Delhi, June 11: An assistant sub-inspector’s son who was declared a proclaimed offender has been arrested, police said today.
Manjeet alias Happy, son of Tarsem Singh, who is posted in special branch of Delhi Police, was a “ruffian” and was involved in as many as nine cases of robbery under different police stations, DCP (outer area) Chhaya Sharma said.
Happy was arrested from U-block in Mangolpuri area following a minor chase after he was identified by a constable, she added.
According to police, Manjeet was released on parole by a court here in January for a week to attend the marriage of his sister.
“He, however, jumped parole and was absconding since then,” a police officer said.
