Cops rewarded Rs 1,000 each to 15 citizens

Cyberabad police here on Sunday honoured the 15 citizens who assisted the police in nabbing criminals and offered timely help to maintain law and order in Cyberabad Commissionerate limits for their acts of courage.

“It is one of the initiatives of towards friendly policing. Recognizing the efforts of citizens, who have gone out of their way to help police in catching offenders, maintaining peace and order, or giving vital information about suspects,” said C V Anand Commissioner of Cyberabad Police.

The Commissioner said that two persons from Arsh Mahal area, Harbhan Singh (58) and M D Moula (52) helped the police to prevent escalation of communal trouble in Sikh Chawni in 2014. Shiva Kumar, a ninth class student and J Babu Yadav of Katedan, chased the house breaking offenders and caught them, E Shiva Kumar (22) and Devella Gopi (22), both students have chased a murder accused Rukma Rao and handed over him to police and few others.

The civilians were presented with ‘Good Citizen Certificate’ and a cash reward of Rs 1,000, by the Commissioner at his office on Sunday. “We appeal public to take part in policing and help the police to apprehend offenders,” the Commissioner said.
