The Thane police last night arrested two people and seized stolen electronic goods worth Rs 25 lakhs, the police said here today.
Police Inspector Chandrakant Joshi of the Thane Unit-I Crime branch said that the unit was keeping a vigil at the
Kalwa octroi check post when they spotted a tempo laden with electronic goods passing.
After it was intercepted, it transpired that occupants had diverted 13 fridges, 12 air-conditioners and 40 LCD
television sets for delivery to Bhandup, from an electronic goods godown.
Police arrested Sunil Malusare and tempo driver Noor Hasan Khan, while two accomplices fled the scene. The police
charged them under Section 379 of the IPC. A hunt is on for those who escaped.
