Mumbai, November : 15The city traffic police – as a pre-emptive security measure – has altered traffic arrangements around the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)
building. The traffic diversions, in place since November 4, are aimed at keeping the BSE premises sanitised, officials said.
“We had a meeting with the BSE management, security personnel and brokers on November 9,” JCP (traffic) Sanjay Barve said. “The brokers expressed concern about their stationery and post arriving on time. We assured them that work at BSE would not be affected.”
Parking and movement of vehicles in the immediate vicinity of the BSE building has been stopped. Vehicles of food suppliers will be allowed in only before 9 am. Vehicles belonging to other establishments in the neighbourhood will be vetted and passes provided to them, which will be stamped by the BSE security personnel.
No vehicles coming from Horniman Circle, Veer Nariman Road and from the Gurudeo signal will be allowed to enter Mumbai Samachar Marg towards BSE. There will also be no right turn on Mumbai Samachar Marg for vehicles coming from Homi Modi Street.
Vehicles coming from Green Street will take a right turn on Mumbai Samachar Marg as they cannot take a left turn now. A stretch of Mumbai Samachar Marg will not be allowed for parking on both sides. The stretch on Ambalal Doshi Marg from the junction of Homi Modi Second Lane to the intersection of Mumbai Samachar Marg will also be closed on both sides; parking, too, will be prohibited.
Similarly, the stretch of Dalal Street from the junction of Mumbai Samachar Marg to the intersection of Nagindas Master Road will remain closed to all vehicles on both sides; parking will not be allowed as well.
