Copa America: Argentina set up Venezuela clash post Bolivia’s drubbing

Washington: Argentina produced yet another brilliant performance as they cruised past Bolivia 3-0 in their Copa America Centenario clash to end the group stage on top at CenturyLink Field in Seattle on Wednesday.

The top-ranked team remained dominated throughout the match, with strikers Erik Lamela and Ezequiel Lavezzi putting their side in the strong position in the first half of the match.

Lamela opened Argentina’s account by scoring a deflected free kick in the 13th minute before Lavezzi doubled the lead just two minutes later.

Lavezzi then went on to supply an assist to defender Victor Leandro Cuesta in the 32nd minute to put Argentina in full control.

Argentina, who had already advanced to the quarterfinals after their 5-0 win over Panama, have set up a clash against Venezuela for a place in the semifinals of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Chile have also stormed into the quarterfinals following their 4-2 win over Panama in their Group D clash. (ANI)
