New Delhi, June 10: TWO policemen on control room van duty, here, have been suspended for refusing to hospitalise a child injured in an accident and declaring him dead on the spot.
The action was taken based on a letter sent to the police commissioner by the additional chief metropolitan magistrate.
The magistrate said head constable Anand Singh and constable Yudhivir refused to take 11- year- old Mahender to hospital after the child was involved in a hit- and- run mishap.
Mahender, said to be from a poor family, was reportedly returning from a wedding feast when the unidentified vehicle knocked him down.
