Hyderabad, May 31: Anguished over the higher authorities denying him promotion, a sub-inspector of police in Karimnagar district committed suicide by shooting himself.
The incident occurred late on Saturday night when Ramadugu SI V Pulla Rao, 52, shot himself with his service revolver at his residence in the mandal headquarters of Choppadandi assembly constituency. “He was depressed as his batchmates were being promoted. The inordinate delay in getting promotion might have spurred him to kill himself,” sources said.
He is also facing financial problems and family disputes, sources claimed. A native of Vallabha village in Mudigonda mandal in Khammam district, Rao served at various places in Karimnagar district. He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.
