Cop netted by CBI for taking bribe

Chandigarh, May 23: A police sub-inspector, who had allegedly demanded bribe from a man arrested in connection with a property dispute, landed in the CBI net today.

The action came on a complaint by the man to the CBI.

Police sources said that Sub-Inspector Nirmal Singh had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Subhash for writing a favourable chargesheet.

Subhash was earlier arrested on the complaint of Sector 44 resident Rajinder Kaur, who had some property dispute with her two brothers. The SI was the investigating officer in the case.
