Rampur: What can be worst, when a child is not safe from a policeman. In such one incident, an assistant sub-inspector of police in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur was jailed for an alleged rape attempt on a 7-year-old girl inside a police post.
The incident took place on Saturday night and the accused was sent to prison on Sunday.

Based on the complaint, police have charged Singh under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty). However, they have not charged him under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
“A team from Kemri police station interrogated Tejveer in the presence of a senior official on Sunday before he was sent to prison,” said the SP. “I have asked the team to complete the investigation at the earliest,” he added.
