Hyderabad: City police today arrested three people including a constable and a home guard here for allegedly conspiring to arrange Indian passports for illegal immigrants from Myanmar and other countries.
According to a press release issued by the police, Basheer Ahmed, a constable attached to Special Branch and home guard S K Saleem, who are both attached to the passport verification cell as well as Ashan Zia Ansari, a passport agent, were arrested.
The trio conspired and arranged Indian passports for foreigners by charging them heavily, the release said.
The police seized an Indian passport, several Aadhar cards, voter identification cards and cellphones from the accused, it said, adding that investigation is on.
