Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today said that cooperative banks are playing key role in helping the farmers to boost agriculture.
Participating in 100th anniversary of Nalgonda District Cooperative Bank celebrations, Jagadish Reddy said the cooperative banks are providing financial boost to the farmers and offering MSP by purchasing farm produce. He also asked them to lend more loans and offer timely help to increase agriculture activity. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was for making agriculture a benefit making process and help the farmers.
Besides waiving off Rs 17,000 crore crop loans giving a major reprieve, KCR has vowed to offer Rs 8000 per acre to every farmer towards crop investment from next year, the minister stated. The TRS Government will sure reach its target of irrigating one crore acres in the State over five years as KCR stated, he said. This is possible as the most of the irrigation projects are being completed on a war-footing, the Energy minister said. The bankers should extend helping hand to the farmers and poor and help them make better living. He also said that KCR aim was to see that the farmers make the best of their farming activity. (NSS)
