Kurukshetra, May 20: In the light of Punjab and Haryana High Court verdict, the Kurukshetra University today allowed a disabled convict, lodged in Karnal jail, to pursue his MBA course.
The university has not only allowed Surinder Kumar to pursue his MBA but has also waived of the entire fee for the course, Lt. Gen. D D S Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, told reporters here.
“This will go a long way in rehabilitation of the jail inmate after his sentence is over,” he said.
“The move will also transform him and enable him to join the mainstream with self-respect.”
The convict has moved a petition before the Punjab and Haryana Court recently seeking its permission to allow him to pursue his MBA course.
The Court told the Kurukshetra University in Haryana to permit him to pursue his MBA studies.
