Amritsar, April 19: Accusing the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab of abandoning the Sikh agenda under the pressure of its ally BJP, the World Sikh Convention today adopted several resolutions to revive it.
The WSC was fully successful in its mission of reviving the Sikh agenda as decisions were taken in accordance with Sikh principles and keeping the interest of the community in mind, organisers of the convention claimed addressing a joint press conference here.
To implement its declaration and resolution in letter and spirit, a body would be constituted very shortly, Shiromani Panthic Council Chairman Manjit Singh Calcutta said, adding that a sub-committee would also be set up to propagate the Sikh ethos.
Another ‘drafting committee’ of Sikh scholars, experts and thinkers would be constituted to fix norms for the post of the Akal Takht Jathedar, they said.
