A 48-hour security alert has finally ended in Gloucester, Britain, after army bomb disposal experts carried out four controlled explosions at a house in the area.
The suspect devices were found in the house’s garage in an operation near Britain’s top spy base, the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in Cheltenham, and two residents were detained on terror charges on Friday.
The police had to place a 200m cordon around the location and 100 homes were evacuated before army bomb disposal experts managed to make the area safe by controlled explosions on Sunday.
The garage where the explosives were found is located just half a mile from the GCHQ electronic eavesdropping hub.
