Contribution of Arabic teachers of OU applauded

The 3 day seminar on “The Contribution of Arabic Teachers of Osmania University in the Development of Arabic Literature” was inaugurated yesterday. Prof. Juveria Jameel Unnisa, former Head of the Dept. of Arabic presided over the meeting. Prof.Dharam Pal, Dean, Faculty of Arts, OU participated as the Chief guest. Prof. Pal said that the Dept. of Arabic is holding a seminar on an important topic. He further told that Arabic is a sweet language of the world since it is associated with Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). Prof. Abdul Quader Jaffer, Head of the Dept. of Arabic of Allahabad University in his key note address applauded the efforts of Prof. Abdus Sattar Siddiqui’s efforts for establishing the Dept. of Arabic in OU. He also paid rich tribute Prof. Abdul Moid Kha, Prof. Syed Nabi, Prof. Abdul Haque, Prof. Syed Ibrahim Rizvi Adeeb, Prof. Abul Fazal, Prof. Syeda Meherunnisa, Prof. Abdus Sattar Khan and Prof. Sultan Mohiuddin.

The Dept. of Arabic of OU has so far awarded 75 Ph.D and 175 M.Phil degrees to scholars. Maulana Syed Khusro Hussaini (Gulbarga) and Maulana Mohammed Khaja Shareef of Jamia Nizamia participated in the function as guests of honour. Prof. Mohammed Mustafa Shareef, Director of the Seminar introduced the guests. Dr. Mahjabeen Akhtar, conducted the meeting. Dr. Mohammed Fazalullah Shareef recited the verses from Quran. Prof. Syed Badiuddin Saberi proposed vote of thanks.
