New Delhi, Nov 9 : Armed robbers today looted a contractor of Rupees 6 lakh after shooting at his driver in Model Town area, police said.
”After Satya Prakash, an MCD contractor, had moved out of his car to go to his office in Rana Pratap Bagh, his driver, Keshav, also came out to take out his briefcase, carrying the amount, from the car’s rear section,” a senior police official said.
As soon as he took the briefcase in his hand, four armed robbers passed by the car at a high speed and shot at 35-year-old Keshav, injuring him seriously, he added.
”The robbers fled away with the briefcase as the driver laid down in a pool of blood on the road. However, the contractor is unhurt,” the official said.
The injured has been admitted to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital and his condition was stated to be critical, he informed.
Further details were awaited and investigation was on.
