The Janata Dal United (JD-U) on Sunday said that the contest would be between the Janata Parivar and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.
“The contest there (in Bihar) is between the Janata Dal Parivar, the BJP and their allied parties. Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, Shri Pappu Yadav or Shri Sadhu Yadav, they are all the frontal organisations of the BJP and they will have no role to play in the elections there,” JD (U) leader K.C. Tyagi told ANI here.
Meanwhile, former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Madhepura MP Pappu Yadav today announced the formation of the Jan Kranti Adhikaar Morcha.
Yadav, who was expelled from the RJD earlier this month for indulging in anti-party activities, earlier hinted at the formation of third alliance in Bihar.
According to reports, the assembly polls in Bihar would be held most likely in September or October this year.
The BJP, which along with its allies had won 31 of the 40 seats in Bihar in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, is set for a battle against a united Janata Parivar comprising of the JD (U) and RJD. (ANI)
