The contention of Mutawalli of Koh-e-Imam-e-Zamin rejected by Court

Supreme Court dismissed the petition of the Mutawalli (Custodian) of Koh-e-Imam-e-Zaamin, at Moula Ali in Hyderabad which was submitted by him for the restoration of his rights as custodian. He was not provided any relief in this case.

AP State Wakf Board had dismissed him and had filed criminal case against him. Challenging his dismissal as Mutawalli, Mr. Qamar Hasan Rizvi approached AP High Court. When he lost the case, he has filed special leave petition in Supreme Court but at the hearing stage itself, his petition was not accepted and his plea was rejected.

Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed, Senior Advocate appeared on behalf of Wakf Board. Wakf Board had deputed its standing counsel Mr. Meer Masood Ahmed Khan and Law Officer Mr. Sultan Mohiuddin.

It may be noted that Koh-e-Imam-e-Zamin has 210 acres of Wakf Land under it. Most of these lands have been illegally occupied by miscreants. Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, Chairman of AP State Wakf Board expressed his satisfaction on the success of Wakf Board’s efforts in the Supreme Court. He expressed his determination to take the possession of the lands illegally occupied by illegitimate occupants.
