The temple committee of Shiva Temple continued its construction activities despite the notice issued by AP High Court. Police intervened and got the construction work stopped.
Mr. Tarun Joshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone) told that the Department of Archaeological Survey of India had issued a notice on 21st August 2012 to the temple committee instructing it not to continue any construction activity in the Shiva Temple which is located within 200 metres from the historical monument Charminar.
A case under Crime number 322/2012 was registered by the police on a complaint made by Archaeological Survey of India. The construction work was immediately stopped. A police picket was posted to stop the construction work of the said temple. Intimation about the construction activities of the temple committee which violated the High Court orders. This has been communicated to Archaeological Survey of India.
