Construction activities at illegal temple adjacent to Charminar stalled

Communal forces are once again active to disrupt peaceful atmosphere of the city and are making repeated attempts to flare up Muslim sentiments. The dust of violence in Musheerabad on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and then incidents of destruction of properties belonging to minority community in Sabzimandi, Kulsoompura had not yet settled, when communal forces began working upon the plan of expansion of Bhagya Laxmi temple, illegally constructed adjacent to Charminar. The work began late at night in a very well orchestrated manner and the plan enjoyed full support of the police.

Seeing the illegal activities at the place, the local Muslims gathered there and staged protest dharna and eventually the construction work had to be stopped.

It must be recalled that the temple was constructed illegally and a large part of the road has been occupied by gradually expanding the temple, as a result traffic jam is a daily routine there.

The priests of the temple deliberately do such things so as to provoke Muslims despite that Muslims are showing patience. The plan of temple expansion is on and the construction work began yesterday night at the interior part of the temple. For the purpose the police extended full cooperation; even the power supply was also disrupted from 11 pm to 12 midnight. However the construction work was stalled following gathering of Muslims in large numbers. Tension prevailed in the area due to this act of miscreants and a large number of Muslims crowded there till late night.
