Ghaziabad, October 17: Four constables today claimed that the SHO of a police station near here refused to register an FIR against a group of youths who allegedly attacked them while on duty.
The constables said they were “badly beaten up” by four youths while on duty last night at a Ram Lila in Dhaulana town, 30 km from here.
They alleged that SHO of Dhaulana police station did not register their complaint and pressurised them to have a settlement with the youths who assaulted them.
SP (rural) M M Beg said that he has ordered an inquiry into the incident and action will be taken against those who assaulted the constables.
The reason behind the assault was not stated by the police.
