The foundation stone tablets were installed at the historical buildings by the Qutub Shahi or Asif Jahi rulers to make known the achievements of rulers and other officials to the succeeding generations. However some unscrupulous and prejudiced elements are trying to obliterate those tablets by making the Urdu, Arabic or Persian words undecipherable or imperceptible.
The same situation is being witnessed at Osmania University, the first university of the world to have Urdu as the medium of instruction. The foundation stone which contains the name of Huzoor Mir Osman Ali Khan, history of university foundation and other details is present in its original form. But to obliterate the historical evidence of achievements of Asif Jahi rulers, it is being buried underground. Trash is being deliberately thrown around it so that it may become invisible.
