Consortium of Urdu newspapers: delegates arrive at Siasat office

Hyderabad, January 1: The editors of Urdu newspapers consented to the idea of a consortium of Urdu newspapers in India mooted by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan to create a common news pool. The motive behind the consortium is to adopt common policy and effective representation of Muslim affairs. The consortium will actually be a common platform for Urdu newspapers.

The delegates of World Urdu Editors Conference arrived at Siasat office yesterday evening and met Mr. Zahid Ali Khan. The delegates inspected various departments of Siasat and acclaimed the standard and printing of the daily.

Among the delegates were Mr. Ahmed Sayeed Malihabadi MP, Mahmood Shaam (Pakistan), Sohail Waraich (Pakistan), Syed Ayaz Badshah (Pakistan) and editors of Urdu newspapers published from India.

The delegates also applauded the educational and financial services rendered by Siasat daily for the community. They also said that Siasat’s journey of more than 60 years assumes great importance. Siasat is also read on internet in more than 100 countries.
