Efforts are on to increase Minority Welfare budget for the financial year 2013-14. Secretary Minority welfare Mrs. I Rani Kumudini convened a review meeting of authorities of various minority institutions on Tuesday in connection with the budget.
Earlier Minority Welfare Minister Ahmedullah and secretary Minority Welfare sent a proposal to finance department regarding increase in budget of various institutions. It is expected that there will be considerable rise in Minority Welfare budget for the next financial year.
The proposal sent to the government wished to allocate more than 1489 crore budget. It remains to be seen will the finance department concede to the request. Minority budget for the year 2012-13 was 489; now the question arises will the government increase the budget with an addition of 1000 crore?
