Union Labor and Employment minister Bandaru Dattatreya today exhorted the people to save fuel for future needs and refrain from misusing fuel for their vehicles.
Participating as the chief guest at Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight 2015 Celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi here, he said that despite being the union minister, he was traveling in Metro Rail in Delhi, instead of using already allocated fleet of vehicles. He suggested to the people using four wheelers and two wheelers to avoid indulging in using their vehicles. Dattatreya opined that people can save fuel by conserving it through persistent efforts. If such steps are taken, they can protect the fuel for future generations, he said.
The union minister also vouched for awareness camps on fuel conservation for posterity. The Petroleum companies and voluntary organizations should come forward for this meaningful purpose, Dattatreya added. Civil Supplies Commissioner Partha Sarathi, Officials including GNV Prasad of HPCL and BN Kanth of IOCL were among those present. Later, he gave away prizes to the school children who won in painting competition.(NSS)
